He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. (Proverbs 21:21) What a most wonderful proverb! Full of the warmth of God's will and meat for the soul. Embracing all our difficulties; enlightening life's sometimes questionable paths with an enduring presence of Father God's love. As I sit here writing this message, I can observe a mother bird feeding her newborn "chicks." Realizing that now they will be accustomed to the type of food they will eat here after. Totally dependent on the mother bird, it is her choice what type of food they will eat. She also must make another choice; which one of her four "chicks," will receive the food first or have to wait for the next journey. Of course, the most hungriest and loudest seems to win the prize. Take a look at this proverb; righteousness and mercy will produce life, righteousness and honor. Righteousness is not enough; we also have to demonstrate mercy. As the Holy Ghost brings the food of God's word to our soul; we will know how to feed others. God will honor with his parenting character. The quoting of a Scripture is not what others need; it is our living of them. Food enhances our physical body with power to live life; so also does the living of "the word of God," give us the divine power to be called the children of God!
