Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:13) I can never find myself not being moved by the "word of God." Every subject matter that you or I could ever experience concerning this life or the one to come are perfectly placed in God's storehouse, "the Bible." Although some are well hidden, intended to be found only by those who have decided to fervently seek the truth, all can be found! Take for instance this Scripture in 1 Peter 1:13. The key that unlocks its worth can be found in Hebrews 6:19. There we read, "which hope we have for an anchor for the soul." Your soul is your eternal you. Some people call it our conscience. Others say it's the ability to know right from wrong. However, the Bible says that your soul is, "the breath of God." The eternal part of our earthly makeup. ( Genesis 2:7) If God can be destroyed, then so can your soul. See what I mean? The real you, the eternal you, which cannot be destroyed only to be placed in heaven or hell after leaving its earthly home. What value do you or I put on our soul? Father God surely puts the greatest of values on your soul. "What profit a man if he should gain the whole earth and lose his soul; or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul." ( Matthew 16:26) It is a part of father God himself. So, what is the anchor of hope for the soul that's talked about in Hebrews 6:19? Jesus! As you and I navigate the seas of this life, storms will come, "anchor in." You will always find in the word of God a pleasant cove and a beautiful sunny day, "anchor in." This will hold your soul steadfast in all the graces of God.
