![]() Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. (2 Corinthians 1:4) As our hearts are being prepared to reach out to our neighbors, inviting them through our informational cards, perhaps they are hurting physically, financially, emotionally or even seeking more of the kingdom of God. What will we give them? This Scripture we have just read affirms that we have been comforted by the same remedy that the world at large is lacking. So just what is this remedy? Could it be a simple dose of something or someone? A one size fits all. In the Gospel of John 14:26, Jesus tells us that the comforter is the Holy Ghost. Then again in John 15:26, the Lord Jesus establishes the fact that the comforter will testify of him. Again in John 16:7 – 14, Jesus affirms that the Holy Ghost will guide, reveal, judge and bring to light all the issues of this life. So as we prepare to be that special harbor in the storms of life, our lives have to reflect the same. "Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16) This will achieve our goal in comforting others. For there is no better advice that our Heavenly Father can give. Praise the Lord!
