And when he (Jesus) had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. (Revelation 8:1)
Can you imagine that? In all of heaven a hush that will be measured by time; all of heaven silenced!
In the preceding pages of revelation, it is recorded that there are millions upon millions of Saints that already occupy its domain. Along with myriads of Angels, Father God whom possesses a voice of immeasurable magnitude and our Lord Jesus in all his glory and splendor. Yes, silence for about the space of half an hour. Why would Father God record this future event? Why would he take us into his confidence concerning his intentions?
So many people feel that God will never do anything harsh or unappealing to their personal existence. Life simply goes on. Sure people live and die, but God pretty much leaves things just as they are.
So what did silence all the inhabitants of heaven? Could it be that God actually meant what he's been saying since the beginning of creation? Was he now making good on his word? Words that he has already recorded in the Bible. What do you think? Praise the Lord!
