![]() Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel. (Proverbs 27:9) Can you imagine that? Words having the same effect as the sweet savor of perfume. How wonderful the sense of smell is. When offered a fragrance that is agreeable with the recipient; a light sweet smile of pleasure seems to pass over one's countenance. Many times I've observed at the fragrance counter in a department store, customers sampling a sniff of the different perfumes. Not all reactions seem to be favorable. The facial expressions, tells it all! Knowing a choice must be made; a continued ongoing investigation eventually reveals a candidate. Can you think of a better friend to take counsel from then our Lord Jesus Christ? But where do we find his sweet counsel so needed to rejoice our heart? The Bible! For Father God has said that his word is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our I and it rejoices the heart! As you read God's word, the certainty of a sampling of the sweetness desired will arrive in your heart. Hearty counsel so settling that it will become part of your life. How do I know? Just take a look at the faces of God's children and you will see the perfume of heaven!

Once again, we find our plate overflowing and heaped high with Father God's spiritual food. Who would know how to give us eternal advice better than our creator, the architect of our soul. The fact remains that no one, I say no one, loves you more than God! As we focus our life into Jesus Christ, a perfect picture of love can clearly be seen.
![]() Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (Isaiah43:10) What a comfort to our soul to know that Father God always was and is. Not created, neither can be created; sovereign, omnipresent, omnipotent, all-powerful, all possible and his mercies endure forever. These are just some of the characteristics of his person. Just think for a moment GOD! His holy word tells us that in him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) Yes, he has even chosen you to be his witness! Can you imagine that? Along with the witness of the Holy Ghost, all things are possible. (Hebrews 10:15) Emmanuel, "God with us." If that's not enough, Father God calls us his children. (Acts 17:29) Then, he goes on to make known that he will make us ruler over many things in the next world; if we obey! (Mt25:21) Yes, God is our Father and we are his children. ![]() Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit. (Hebrews 6:1-3) Can there be more? Is Almighty God offering his saints even a greater revelation of reality into spiritual life? How is the meat of the word different from the milk? (1 Corinthians 3:2) As one tastes of the honey in the rock (word of God), nothing else will satisfy. They will always be hungry for another taste! When I was a teenager, about 14 or 15 years of age, my summer vacation was spent working for a Mason. All day long, I would mix mortar and carry the same up the scaffolding. Then more bricks were needed; so up they went, several at a time. Then, back to mixing mortar. For a young fellow with starry eyes for the world, this was quite the challenge. Also, to show up for work every day at had its moments. Then the bright spot! There was an Italian deli just up the street. It sold the best sausage subs in the universe! Yes, that's right, in the universe! I would be always thinking of that delicious sandwich I would soon be having. Sometimes when I was bold and the finances permitted, I would purchase two, always with a 7-up. When you or I find the meat in God's word, each morsel, every bite, every thought of the same makes you want more! Peculiar you say. But Jesus said unto them, "I have meat to eat that ye know not of." (John) And again, "verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man (Jesus), and drink his blood ye have no life in you." Enjoy the feast! Praise the Lord. ![]() I love them that love me; and those that seek me early will find me. (Proverbs 8:17) The foundation for all of God's word is quite simple; you must believe that it is God's word! Debates, questions, and wondering if this is what the Almighty God of all creation has settled on; only breeds a mound of debris that will someday need removing. So much time is lost, so many blessings stolen, so many complaints filed in the Lord's name that if only the recipient had believed and followed God's word; cheers of victorious joy would have been the grand finale. I can remember that for over 12 years, Father God would faithfully awaken me at exactly 4 AM. Even while I was visiting other countries, with time differences up to 10 hours, exactly 4 AM. Then I would lie prostrate before our creator. Jesus, the Holy Ghost or on some occasion Father God would fill my mind and soul with revelations. Not limited to my finite existence or experiences. He would tell me of things to come. Address subject matter seemingly only known to himself and so on. I would then be instructed to bind up all the business that Satan had planned for others and myself that day. I would then pray, God's will be done! How does this all happened? When you or I know that we love God and he loves us; not only do we find comfort in his word, but instruction. As we apply its infinite wisdom and guidance to our lives, heaven will open. |
