He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. (Proverb 21:21)

What a most wonderful proverb! Full of the warmth of God's wisdom; providing meat for the soul. Embracing all our difficulties; enlightning life's sometimes questionable path with an enduring presence of Father God's love.

As I sit here writing this message, I can observe a mother bird feeding her newborn "chicks". Realizing that now they will  be accustomed to the types of food that they will eat here after. Totally dependent on their parents. As I observed the bird returns to the nest, a choice had be made which one of the four chicks would receive the precious cargo or have to wait for the next journey. Of course, the most hungriest and loudest, seems to win the prize.

Take a look at this proverb. Righteousness and mercy will produce life, righteousness and honor. Righteousness is not enough alone. We also have to demonstrate mercy. As the Holy Ghost brings the food of God's word to our soul; we will then know how to feed others. God will honor with his parenting character. The quoting of a Scripture is not what others need; it's our living of them.

Food enhances the physical body with power to live life. So much more does the living of, "the word of God," give us a divine power to be called, "the children of God."

If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. (Ecclesiastes 11:3)

Once again we find the word of God en-lightning the eye and comforting the soul. Here we have clouds with rain; there are other scriptures that speak of clouds having no rain. Comparing them to people that confess to have gifts and abilities with God; but truly have nothing to offer. A disappointment to say the least. Ever so quick to pray for someone or proclaim some miracle; which draws no water from God and never can. Like clouds without water, they boast themselves of a false gift.

In a forest of great trees, you will notice some trees that are leaning. The direction in which that tree is leaning, is where it will fall to its death. When Jesus was healing a blind man, he saw men as trees walking. The way a person is living the Christian life, will speak volumes of how they are or are not leaning towards God. Each day the path they choose will display their character and how they will appear before the Lord on that great day. This does not happen overnight. Each day, little by little each of us leans in one direction or another. How incredible it is for a believer not to do a self examination every day; asking this question, "Is the direction that I am going in taken me closer to God or further away?"

Two great promises are found incorporated in the above Scripture. The pouring out of God's divine abilities through the true believer and the direction one takes concerning "
Christian character."
