Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. (Isaiah 60:1) The light of God is a most fabulous event, under any circumstances. Along the road to Damascus, this light brought men prostrate on the ground. When it appeared on Mount Sinai, it brought fear into the hearts of the Israelites. On the mount of Transfiguration, this light from heaven brought the sweet voice of God. In God's house this morning we will truly experience that same light. His presence is all around. Even when I drove onto the property, I could feel his presence. This presence or glory of the Lord, will always emulate the resurrected Jesus. When Jesus said, "I am the light of the world, he that cometh to me shall never dwell in darkness;" he was giving the church a revelation of his light. As we experience his presence here this morning and enter into the glory of his holiness, the sky is the limit. May this light guide you and manifest itself in you throughout the new year. Praise the Lord !

And the angel said unto them, "Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:10 & 11) Here it is the year 2017. Even the calendar is based on the birth of Jesus the Christ. Such an overwhelming warmth can be felt in his presence. All grown up now; Jesus reveals wisdom, knowledge, revelation and life all who continue to seek the Holy Ghost. Learn of me, take my yoke upon you, greater works than these shall ye do; are just some of the advice he still gives today. Boring? Outdated? Antiquated in use? Are there any sick in the world today? Any confused, in need of God's advice or his divine intervention? Are the powers of darkness stealing, destroying, killing and holding on to souls so precious to God that he gave his only begotten son to be their Savior and a deliverer from the powers of darkness. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) Have a most blessed Christmas. Praise the Lord! A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. (Proverb 25:11) This proverb has been one of my favorite for years. Yes, a word from the Lord has a most profound and picturesque effect always on its hearer. This is one reason why we the children of God gather. As we come together into God's house, worship him, pay our tithes and make prayers on life's weighty matters; this sets the theme of communication. We await a word fitly spoken. When you or I go into the produce department of a supermarket, we look for the freshest, most appealing vegetables or fruits on display. All of these products have a shelf life and we know the fresher the better. Not so unlike the sermon we will hear today. Fresh words will come out from heaven and be displayed upon the tables of our mind. It's no wonder God compares his word to fruit (apples of gold). We supply the containers (pictures of silver). The rest is easy. Praise the Lord! Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner. (Proverbs 11:31) Our all knowing God and Father wants everyone to know his position on our earthly matters. The Bible tells us that the word of God cannot be avoided. What God has said, he has said! He will recompense everyone in this world according to their relationship with Jesus Christ! Some years ago, the Holy Ghost instructed me to go to Wales, United Kingdom (England). This was to participate in the dedication of a church in which I had been used of God to help bring into existence. What was different about this trip was that God's Spirit instructed me to buy only a one-way ticket. I thought how was I to get back home? Over 3000 miles is a long way to swim. When all the business of God was completed; it was time to go home. One problem, still no ticket. I had not yet been recompense for my righteous obedience. A brother in the Lord, Derek Bennett, insisted to drive me to the airport. I had been ministering to him on this trip and he wanted to spend as much time with me as he could; hopefully, right up to my departure. It seemed that the Lord's work was not finished as of yet concerning this brother. Picking an airport we embarked to the same. Not knowing of my ticket dilemma; he could not have been happier. Upon arriving at the airport, he insisted to come in with me, along with his two small children. He just kept talking away and asking questions about how does God do this and that. The reality of my dilemma, no ticket, seem to begin to captivate my thoughts. Just then, Derek asked me if I would mind watching his children while he went to the restroom. Having no place to go, I replied, "I would be delighted." After some time he returned carrying in his hand some papers. He looked right at me and said, "I don't know why, but while I was away I felt compelled to buy you a ticket back to America." He added, "I hope you are not upset." God bought me a ticket! Can you imagine that, God bought me that ticket! When all else seemed to fail, Father God's word went forth. My righteous obedience was recompensed in the earth. I received more that day than an airline ticket back to the US; it was a miracle! The marvelous hand of God our Father was alive in the Scriptures! Praise the Lord! |
