For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? (1 Peter 4:17& 18)
What a most powerful mover of the mind these Scriptures are. The reader cannot help but think of the awesome value of a saved soul. When I read these words, "scarcely be saved," a reality of truth ignites my soul; setting it ablaze with fearfulness, yet joyful emotions. Journeying through this life seems to carry with it a destination which no one can avoid. Denial will not make it go away. Fraudulent theories or so-called religions will not appease the sick and dying soul. Only the great physician of spiritual health can do anything. We must all go to him, Jesus, and tell him all our troubles. Read the Bible for all your spiritual medicines and follow their instructions. If misused, they will cause even a greater pain than you or I could ever imagine. You may ask why? It's one thing to lose a house, car, financial amounts or for that matter anything in this world; but to lose your eternal soul would be devastating. Think on these things and proceed. Praise the Lord! April 3, 2016
