Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end. (Psalm 102:25 – 27) Sometimes when we see a most beautiful sunset or become engulfed with Father God's intricate details of this present life; it is almost unthinkable that all of this will pass away. Sometimes, even our own physical appearance seems to express a feeling that we could go on forever. Then as if a little bell goes off, we realize that all things in this life will come to an end. What a dilemma! What to do? Some years ago while visiting a hospital in the country of England, I met a young fellow named Joseph. He was in need of a kidney transplant. As I talked with him, my thoughts were all about his eternal soul. Seeing his condition and knowing the success rate of such an operation; I needed to convey to him that his soul was eternal. I flooded his mind with the gospel, God, Jesus, heaven, my journeys around the world and so on. It was a most wonderful afternoon! A few days later, Joseph went the way of all flesh. His vesture was changed and his spirit returned to God. Beloved, as your journey continues in this world and life's events seem to devalue the heavenly program; embrace Jesus! Then and only then will the picture of this life become much clearer.
