Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (Psalm 50:14 & 15) So sweet with innocence are these uplifting precious words of beauty and hope. Can you imagine that? God the father, in all his power and might, taking time for you or I. This is not just a one time offer, but low I am with you always. As the celebrations of the holiday called Thanksgiving approaches, I cannot help but think of its origin. Our forefathers, known as pilgrims, instituted a day of thanksgiving to God in humble appreciation for His providence and provisions. Somehow, over the years, eyes have dimmed, purposes have changed and this holiday to so many only means another day off; Black Fridays and so on. It's no wonder our nation or for that matter the world, is plagued with so many problems. If man would only pay their vows to God and truly thank him for his bountiful mercies that endure forever; a glorious Thanksgiving feast would be had by all. Praise the Lord! Have a most blessed holiday
