![]() These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations (meetings), which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.(Leviticus 23:4) The holiday season is upon us. Thanksgiving has passed and Christmas awaits. Thanksgiving has its roots in the Mayflower and Christmas in the manger. However, if you were to walk around the streets of our social behavior, a much different story is being told. Thanksgiving is associated with the turkey, family gatherings and a day off. Christmas on the other hand speaks of presents, decorations,, traveling and oh yes, friends and family. Santa has been taught to infants and adults alike. This enabling him to become a household name. So what has happened? The holidays or seasons talked about in the above Scriptures, refer to seven holy days or feasts: Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Harvest, Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles. All these feast or holidays were lacking one very important entity, Jesus! Beloved, should our holiday season omit the same? Should Jesus be obscured or only an image in our thoughts? What a most marvelous season to show off the greatest gift of all; eternal life in Christ Jesus! After all isn't he the reason for the season? Praise the Lord!
