For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalm 119:89)

As we approach the holiday called Christmas, I cannot help but think how man's appetite changes for a season. The hustle and bustle of merchandising, along with other rituals, seems to come alive with fervent energy. All well and good; yet right under the noses of all is the word of God made flesh.(John 1:14). There are so many needs in so many lives that are void of the reality, "for GOD so loved the world."

How many people do you know that have celebrated Christmas man's way year after year and have not come into the knowledge of the Scriptures? Toiling to get the right present, decorating to appeal to the outward senses. Trying to create an atmosphere of goodwill toward men, peace on earth and so on. However, when all is said and done, the word of God is the only settling comfort that brings heaven to earth! Yes,three hundred sixty five  days a year, believers celebrate in spirit and in truth the Christmas holiday!  How good is that?     Praise the Lord!
